Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer - Southall 

If you have a passion for the Carpentry and craft trades and have a range of industry experiences on your CV, then this teaching role at The Construction & Green Skills Centre of Excellence is the place for you.

You will need drive and ambition, and we are happy to consider experienced teachers and those wishing to take their first steps into teaching. If you are new to teaching, we will offer you a training and development package that will lead to full teaching status. You will spend your time training and educating the future workforce through both practical and theoretical approaches.

We have excellent facilities to offer, and we offer courses from level 1 - level 3. The multi-skills courses provide learners with a carousel of trade experiences, including Carpentry, Brick, Plastering, Plumbing, Electrical Painting, & Decorating. We are happy to take applications from people who are qualified and experience in one or two of these trades. The skills courses lead to the Apprentice standard ‘Property Maintenance Operative’, which is a broad and very useful qualification. We have learners joining us from school, apprentices who work on-site alongside college and adult learners who have some skills and are looking to gain the necessary qualifications to move up in their careers.

The role;

This role is offering Full time Hours (23hrs teaching + prep time) and will run on a temp to perm basis 
You will be working within the colleges Construction (Carpentry and Joinery) department, supporting, teaching, training and assessing Carpentry and Joinery students on their courses of study. You will be responsible for delivering education and training to high standards along with preparing student materials, assessing and marking student work and carrying out student tutorials and assessments to ensure each student is achieving their best during their time in the college.

The person;
We are therefore seeking individuals that are passionate about Carpentry and Joinery and that have relevant experience in both educational and industry fields. The individual will also have experience working with students or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting whilst being upbeat, motivational and knowledgeable in the subject area in order to educate and inspire learners.

Have you got what it takes?

  • A level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (Carpentry and Joinery)
  • A teaching qualification or the willingness to upskill and work towards one 
  • Experience delivering Carpentry and Joinery courses up to level 3
